Germany national football team secured a late 2 to 1 victory over Ghana national football team in an international friendly played in Stuttgart, with Deniz Undav scoring the decisive goal in the closing minutes.
Germany started strongly at the MHP Arena, creating several early chances through Nick Woltemade and Florian Wirtz, but were unable to convert despite dominating possession in the opening stages.
The breakthrough eventually came just before halftime after a penalty was awarded for handball against Jonas Adjetey. Kai Havertz stepped up and calmly converted from the spot to give the hosts the lead heading into the break.
Germany continued to press after the restart but failed to extend their advantage, a lapse that allowed Ghana to fight back into the game. The equaliser arrived in the 70th minute when Abdul Fatawu Issahaku finished from close range after being set up by Derrick Köhn.
With the match heading towards a draw, Undav struck in the 88th minute to seal the win for the hosts, extending Germany’s winning run to seven consecutive matches.
The result marks a difficult run of form for Ghana, who have now suffered four straight defeats ahead of their preparations for upcoming international competitions. The team is expected to face Mexico national football team in their next outing.
Germany, meanwhile, will look to maintain their momentum when they take on Finland national football team in their next fixture.
