Man Claims He Is Asake’s Biological Father, Says He Gave Singer Up for Adoption_urban_certified

A man has sparked widespread debate on social media after claiming to be the biological father of Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake, alleging that he gave the singer up for adoption when he was a teenager.

The claim surfaced in a video currently circulating on X (formerly Twitter), where the man recounted what he described as a personal story he had kept private for years.

Claim of teenage fatherhood

In the video, the man said he became a father while still a teenager but decided to give the child up for adoption because he felt too young and unprepared to take on the responsibility.

Reflecting on the decision, he admitted he did not fully understand the long-term consequences of his actions at the time.

“A lot of people do not know that I was a teenage father. When I was a teenager, I had a son and I ended up giving him up for adoption, mostly because I simply did not care at the time,” he said.

Alleged early identity

The man further claimed that the child was initially named Tanimutanku, but later adopted a different identity as he grew older.

According to him, the boy eventually distanced himself from his biological family and later rose to global fame under the stage name Asake.

Viral video follows luxury car reports

The video began trending shortly after online reports suggested that the singer had recently surprised both his mother and father with luxury vehicles reportedly worth millions.

During his narration, the man admitted that his decision to give up the child was influenced by youthful irresponsibility. He said he would have acted differently if he had known how the future would unfold.

“If I had known what the future held, I would have kept and raised him myself so I could witness his success and benefit from it,” he added.

No response yet from Asake

As of the time of filing this report, Asake has not publicly responded to the claims made in the viral video.
