Ghanaian singer and songwriter Moliy has achieved a major international milestone after winning World Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2026.
The ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 26, with Ludacris hosting the event and also receiving the Landmark Award.
Moliy secured the top global honour ahead of a strong lineup of international nominees, including Ayra Starr, Tyla, JO1 and Jackson Wang.
In addition to her win, Moliy earned a nomination for Best New Artist in the Hip Hop category. That award went to Real Boston Richey, but her recognition across categories highlighted her growing influence across multiple genres.
The event featured performances from top acts such as Lainey Wilson, TLC, Salt-N-Pepa, En Vogue, Kehlani and John Mellencamp, who was honoured with the Icon Award.
Other notable appearances included Miley Cyrus, who received the Innovator Award, alongside Taylor Swift, Ne-Yo and Nicole Scherzinger. Kendrick Lamar also won Hip Hop Album of the Year for his project GNX.
Moliy’s victory marks a significant achievement for Ghanaian music on the global stage. Known for blending Afropop, R&B and alternative sounds, she has steadily built an international audience through her unique style and artistic direction.
Her success reflects the rising global impact of African music, as artists from the continent continue to gain recognition as leading voices in the international music industry.
