The nominees for the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards have been officially announced following a launch event held at the Palms Convention Centre on Saturday, March 14. The list features a wide range of artistes across multiple genres, reflecting a competitive year for Ghana’s music industry.
The announcement also revealed several notable omissions, setting the stage for a highly anticipated awards night in the coming weeks.
Major Category Highlights
In the Best Hiplife Song category, entries include Shoulder by Medikal featuring Shatta Wale and Bezztrap KOTM, Habit by Fameye featuring Medikal, and Messiah by Sarkodie featuring Kweku Flick.
The Hiplife and Hip Hop Artiste of the Year category includes Black Sherif, Medikal, Kweku Smoke, Sarkodie, Kojo Cue and O Kenneth.
For Highlife Artiste of the Year, nominees include Fameye, King Paluta, Kwabena Kwabena, Kofi Kinaata and Kuami Eugene.

Best Female Vocal Performance features Cina Soul, Enam, Niiella and others including Grace Charles of Team Eternity Ghana and Lordina The Soprano.
Best Traditional Gospel Song includes entries from Joyce Blessing, Piesie Esther, Mabel Okyere and Diana Hamilton among others.
Best Hip Hop Song of the Year features Black Sherif, O Kenneth, Sarkodie, Kweku Smoke and others such as Gona Boy and Lalid.
Best Afrobeats Song of the Year includes KiDi, Wendy Shay, Mr Drew, Lasmid and collaborations involving Olive The Boy.
Best Afropop Song of the Year features Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Gyakie, King Promise and others.
Video, Gospel and Performance Categories
Best Music Video of the Year includes productions from Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Medikal and Samini, alongside Kojo Blak and AraTheJay.
Best Male Vocal Performance features Asiama, Deon Boakye, Perez Musik and Carl Clottey.
The gospel categories include strong representation from Diana Hamilton, MOG Music, Piesie Esther and Kofi Owusu Peprah across both traditional and urban gospel sections.
Collaboration and International Categories
Collaboration of the Year includes works from Sarkodie, Medikal, Stonebwoy, KiDi and Wendy Shay, while International Collaboration of the Year features Black Sherif, Moliy, King Promise and others working with global artistes such as Fireboy DML and Tyla.
Album, New Artiste and Major Awards
Albums in contention include Iron Boy by Black Sherif, Torcher by Stonebwoy, AfterMidnight by Gyakie and Disturbation 2 by Medikal.
New Artiste of the Year nominees include Kojo Blak, Gona Boy, Lalid and Adom Kiki.
The Most Popular Song of the Year category features Gymnastic by KiDi, Sacrifice by Black Sherif and Shoulder by Medikal among others.
The ultimate Artiste of the Year category includes Black Sherif, Medikal, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Sarkodie and Diana Hamilton.
